  Prehnite

This crystal was first described in 1788 around Cradock in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It was named after Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn who was the commander of the Dutch military at the Cape of Good Hope in the late 1700s.

Prehnite helps you to release negative energy and emotional blockages, and it’s often used in meditation and healing ceremonies. It can also be helpful in promoting physical healing, especially if you’re suffering from an illness or injury. Prehnite is a calming and nurturing stone that can help you connect with the Earth’s energy, making it a valuable stone for those working to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.

It is useful in allowing us to declutter. This includes letting go of possessions that are no longer needed and can help those who tend to hoard. It alleviates nightmares and phobias and uncovers the reasons behind them. This allows us to examine these fears and negativity and find a way to combat them. It is a stone for dreaming and remembering.

Malachite

The name Malachite may come from the Greek word malakee or malache, signifying the resemblance of Mallow leaves, or from the Greek word malakos, meaning soft. Being a carbonate of copper, Malachite is sometimes intergrown with Azurite, forming Malachite-Azurite, or with Chrysocolla, forming Malachite-Chrysocolla.

Well known to ancient Egyptians, Malachite mines were in use between the Suez and Sinai as early as 4000 BC. It was also popular with the ancient Greeks and Romans, for jewelry, ornaments, and in powdered form, for eye shadow. In the Middle Ages, Malachite was believed to protect against the "Evil Eye" and to cure various stomach ailments. Russian czars used Malachite for ornaments and paneling for their castles and intricate inlay work.

Inherent in Malachite are lighter green eye-shaped forms or bands on its surface. These “eye stones,” believed to enhance great visionary powers, were used to ward off negative happenings.

Peridot

Peridot is one of the oldest known gemstones, and has been mined as a gem for over 4,000 years. It is actually mentioned several times in the Bible, although you may not recognise the name as it is referred to by its original title, Chrysolite.

The colour of Peridot ranges from bottle green to an almost yellowish, olive colour, and its surface appearance can often have an oily, greasy look. The gem is also mildly pleochroic, meaning that it is possible to see different shades from different angles. Peridot often has inclusions which can be caused by the presence of small particles of silica.

Peridot has long been associated with luck, and many cultures have celebrated the unusual and mystical elements of the stone in their myths and legends. Historically, there was an apparent belief that Peridot could ward off evil spirits, and that if the stone was then set in Gold (and other precious metals) its capacity to bring the bearer good luck and fortune was intensified even more.

Peridot the Alien stone !

Peridot is also an extra-terrestrial gemstone. It has been found in meteorites that have crashed down onto the surface of the planet over the centuries, and we can only assume these crystals either formed far, far away or were thrown out by the formation of the Earth and eventually crashed back down here billions of years later. Though you’re unlikely to see Space Peridot set into jewellery, go to the Natural History Museum in London and view the 4.5 billion-year-old Imilac Meteorite, which is partially made up of Olivine. The gem has also been found on the Moon in rocks that were brought back to Earth during the iconic Apollo missions of the 1960s and 70s, and in 2003 NASA also found the gemstone on Mars!

Ruby Zoizite

is a mix of opaque red Ruby in green Zoizite from Tanzania, also known as Anyoite. Very much heart-based, the vigour of the green Zoizite will stimulate positive feelings.

When Ruby and Zoisite are naturally combined into a single stone, the root, heart, and third eye chakras are all aligned and harmonize on the same vibrational level. This special combination of stones will help in the manifesting of ideas and will offer the strength and assistance in accomplishing your dreams. Ruby Zoisite aligns the heart and third eye to produce a deepened understanding of what negativity we are carrying and how to conquer it. Ruby Zoisite is also one of the very few minerals that can transmute negative energies into positivity. Even leaving a piece in your daily environment will drastically benefit everyone in it.

Ruby is the stone of courage and strength that purges any fear or anxiety that sits within us daily. Green Zoisite’s energy produces growth and fertility in all aspects of life. Zoisite helps us “rebirth” and have a better understanding of ourselves and our connection to the outside world. For many people who are not spiritual and just recently “awakened” their spirituality, this stone will help you along your journey of rediscovering yourself.

Chrome  Diopside

At 5.5–6.5 on the Mohs scale, chrome diopside is relatively soft to scratch. Due to the deep green color of the gem, they are sometimes referred to as Siberian emeralds, although they are on a gemological level completely unrelated, emerald being a precious stone and diopside being a semi-precious stone.

Chrome diopside has long been used to help with concentration and creative vision. This green gemstone is also supposed to boost one's cognitive abilities and inspire a drive to learn. According to metaphysical views, chrome diopside reduces wrath and stubbornness while also promoting love and commitment. Green diopside is said to be associated with the heart chakra.

Grossular Garnet

Garnets have been known to Man for thousands of years. Noah, it is said, used a garnet lantern to help him steer his ark through the dark night. Garnets are also found in jewellery from early Egyptian, Greek and Roman times.

Many an early explorer and traveller liked to carry a garnet with him, for the garnet was popular as a talisman and protective stone, as it was believed to light up the night and protect its bearer from evil and disaster. Today, science has taught us that the garnet’s proverbial luminosity comes from its high refractive index.

Now for the green garnets. Green garnets?! Is there really such a thing? Indeed there is! In fact, several green varieties are known. First there is ‘grossularite’, created by Nature in many fine tones of yellow, green and brown and esteemed for its many fine interim hues and earth colours. Here too, there was a spectacular find
Probably the best known green garnet is tsavorite or tsavolite, which also belongs to the grossularite group. It was originally discovered in 1967 by a British geologist, Campbell R. Bridges, in the north-east of Tanzania. Bridges and Tiffany’s in New York gave this name to the previous emerald-green stone

Associated with the Base, Sacral, Solar Plexus and Heart Chakras, Grossular Garnet is a deeply spiritual stone teaching appreciation of abundance, from physical wealth to spiritual connection to the Divine. Meditation with Garnet increases fertility, and Tsavorite facilitates communication with higher spiritual realms.
