The Stone

Amethyst is a variety of quartz that gets its distinctive purple hue from trace amounts of iron and aluminium in its crystal structure. This gemstone can range in colour from pale lavender to deep violet, with the most prized specimens exhibiting a rich, royal purple colour.

Amethyst is often associated with spiritual healing and is believed to promote tranquillity, balance, and clarity of mind. Some people use amethyst to alleviate stress, enhance intuition, and promote emotional well-being.

Garnet takes its name from the Latin word for grain, after the likeness between its crystals and pomegranate seeds. It signifies protection, friendship, trust and love.

Care

Remove before bathing, swimming or sleeping. Keep away from perfume, oils and household cleaners — plated brass and natural stone both prefer to be left dry. Polish gently with a soft dry cloth, and rest the piece in its pouch when you are not wearing it.

How to Wear It

At 42cm it sits just below the collarbone, close enough for both stones to read. Wear it alone, or layer it over a longer chain.
